Inflation Gets Some Base Effect Love With 3.66% – But You’re Unlikely To See It This Low Again

Consumer Price Inflation (CPI) for August 2015 is at just 3.66% which is the lowest in this series. A heavy base effect contributes to this low number, as we had mentioned last month . Inflation is expected to be lower as last year at this time, crude were quite high. The effect will wear off in September. We’re only in July so August data too will be kind. If you look at the how the index flattened out after that, then it will be quite something to have inflation this low going forward.
